In Team Party, instead of collecting the most stars, teams of two have to reach the finish line before the other does.*Additional games, systems and/or accessories may be required for multiplayer mode. The rest of the Team Party boards are Fortune City, Volcano World, Ocean Universe and Rainbowland. The five Mario Party boards are Paradise Gardens, mushroom airport, Rainbow land and Star Planet. Four boards have been used for Mario Party mode and the rest are used for Team Party. Mario Party WORLD TOUR contains 8 boards, the most boards in the Mario Party series. Of those, Toad, and Toadette return after hosting Super Mario Party for two years, Pauline featuring a new playable character from the Donkey Kong series and Luma returning from Super Mario Galaxy. There are 24 playable characters in Mario Party WORLD TOUR, the largest number of playable characters in the Mario Party series. A new minigame mode called Solo minigames features the player alone, to meet the requirements to win. 2 minigames, 10 co-op minigames, 13 solo minigames and 7 game world (extra games). Of these, there are 40 4-player minigames, 25 1 vs. Some minigames have been borrowed from the past Mario Party series while others are new. In addition, there's a total of over 100 minigames. For example, if the player plays as Peach in Canada, she will have the opportunity to use the Standard Dice Block, the Peach Dice Block or the Canada Dice Block. Also, the country that the player has selected can roll a dice block based on its flag. In this mode, players can select a country and they move around the board based on its shape and size. Also, players can pass through item shops to buy from toad (Toadie in Star Planet). For instance, a blue space gives the player 3 dollars while a red space deducts 3 dollars. Every space they land on will trigger a special effect. Players roll a dice block and they move around the board based on their roll. Mario Party WORLD TOUR's gameplay is the same way of playing a traditional Mario Party with additional features.
The game focuses on boards from around the world and from the Mario universe. Mario Party WORLD TOUR is a video game for the Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android.
